Amphetamine ER Warnings

Misuse or abuse of amphetamines may cause serious (possibly fatal) heart and blood pressure problems. Amphetamine-type medications can be habit-forming. Use only as directed. If you use this drug for a long time, you may become dependent on it and may have withdrawal symptoms after stopping the drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.   • Warning: Breastfeeding is not recommended while using this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Shake well before using.
  • Do not drink alcoholic beverages when using this medication.
  • This drug may impair the ability to operate a vehicle, vessel (e.g., boat), or machinery. Use care until you become familiar with its effects.
  • May cause dizziness
  • Take in the morning as directed
  • Call your doctor immediately if you have mental/mood changes like confusion, new/worsening feelings of sadness/fear, thoughts of suicide, or unusual behavior.

Pregnancy Warnings

  • Insufficient human data available. Amphetamines cause vasoconstriction and may cause reduced placental perfusion and premature delivery. Monitor infants born to mothers taking amphetamines for symptoms of withdrawal, such as feeding difficulties, irritability, agitation, and excessive drowsiness. Animal data suggest developmental toxicity.
