Afrezza Warnings

This medication can cause trouble breathing in people with long-term (chronic) lung disease (such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-COPD). This medication should not be used by people with chronic lung problems. Tell your doctor right away if you have trouble breathing, shortness of breath, persistent cough, or wheezing.

Your doctor will check your lung function before you start using this medication. (See also Notes section.)
  • Use inhaler within 10 minutes before each meal.
  • Smoking should be avoided while using this medication.
  • If you drink alcohol, discuss the safe use of alcohol while using this medication with your healthcare professional.
  • Bring to room temperature before preparing for use.
  • If brought to room temperature, this product expires after _______________.

Pregnancy Warnings

  • Insufficient human data available. Poorly controlled maternal diabetes can lead to increased maternal and fetal/neonatal morbidity and mortality. Consider maternal treatment benefits versus potential fetal/neonatal adverse outcomes.
